The whole forest gang of bunnies, owls, foxes, deer and even the odd snail and mushroom have made it into the beautiful artwork for the Forest print swaddle.
Wee Gallery muslins are made from GOTS certified organic cotton, making baby, mum, and the planet happy!
Generously sized to be versatile enough as a swaddle, pram cover or in the car seat, crib or changing table.
Each forest swaddle is lovingly made in India using organic fabric and sustainable practices.
Each blanket measures 120 x 120 cm (or 48×48 inches).
About Wee Gallery
Wee Gallery is the lovechild of Surya (a graphic designer) and Dave (a teacher), who became parents in 2002 to a son named Sid (or Siddu if we’re being official).
When Sid came along, they read everything they could get their hands on about baby development and learned these gems:
- newborns can only see as far as 12 to 15 inches away (around the length of your forearm and hand)
- they are most taken with their parents’ faces
- they are drawn to simple but repeating geometric shapes in black and white
- which is great, because high-contrast visual patterns promote infant brain development, and
- at around 1 year of age, they begin to recognize animal forms, later calling them by name.
Surya and Dave were fascinated by the idea of helping their baby’s brain develop by literally playing with visuals, but instead of just drawing black lines on a piece of paper, they created a planet of animals, which continued to entertain Siddu as he got older.
Wee Gallery strive to use eco-friendly materials. They minimize use of plastics and avoid materials that may have dangerous effluents involved in their production, such as PVC. Their printed paper products, made in China, are made from FSC-certified paper and soy-based inks. Their cotton products are produced with GOTS-certified organic cotton, which means no chemical softeners. (That’s why it takes a few washes for swaddles to become super soft.)
Wee Gallery only partners with manufacturers that will abide by a code of conduct that includes ecologically and socially sustainable practices. They must agree to pay their workers a fair wage and provide good working conditions. Among the global partners are China’s Leo Paper group, which is ISO 9000 certified and consistently earn industry awards for good overall practices, as well as our Indian factory which is a GOTS-certified manufacturer of organic cotton textiles.
